In 2015, after my mid-summer trip to the North Cape, I attempted a winter trip on the South Downs Way (on the shortest day). I had to abandon after one day, due to deep mud, poor visibility, navigational errors and ultimately a fall in fading daylight.
So I was very pleased when a friend suggested an easy (hopefully) three day trip in the summer allowing plenty of time for cycling – and potentially sampling the odd beer.
To help motivate me, I have dug out some of my pictures from the 2015 winter trip.

I’m sure the next photos will be glorious sunshine, solid chalk tracks and pub beer gardens – fingers crossed!

Does that mean you want your panniers back?

No – we are travelling light (no camping), and your need is greater.
